Yeah, I learned to play that. I could never quite get the little trill between the first and second bars right. I suspect for Arnone it was one of those little moments when you play something instinctively for some unknown reason and it comes out as a flash of genius. I wonder if he himself could quite replicate it. Or perhaps it was just me not being good enough. Donald was a first call NY session man after all.
To return to the point, in the absence of hard evidence, I suspect that Al Caiola would have been the senior partner. Does your edition credit the five singers? Their names are freely available, I have them in my booklet which must be twenty five years old now. There must be a session list somewhere out there.
