Following on from the Al Caiola thread, as well as "El Paso", Grady Martin also played on "Big Iron", "Devil Woman" and the flip side, one of my favourites, "April Fool's Day". He also played on numerous other Robbins tracks, which is not really surprising given his status as a session player in Nashville.
However, Marty's big breakthrough hit "Singing The Blues" featured Ray Edenton and Hillous Butrum, not sure who played what, and James Farmer on steel. That's Owen Bradley on piano.
Al Caiola played on "White Sport Coat" and "Story Of My Life".These were both New York sessions. For the record, Don Arnone played on "Stairway Of Love" + 3 others, also a NY session.
Later in his career, around 1976/7 time, Tommy Allsup played on a few tracks both with and without Grady Martin.

When I was young, sometime around the year dot, I thought that Buddy Holly played guitar on ALL his records, and Marty Robbins too! No wonder I was in total awe of his virtuosity.
