On most Bobby Fuller recordings I am 90 percent certain that all of the jangly, rhythm-type playing is Bobby on his Fender and the single note lead parts, where heard, are by Jim Reese. The interplay between these two is like no other guitar duet group I've ever heard. It is Bobby playing lead throughout on some songs but he is almost never playing single note leads. He plays that strummed, lead-rhythm style that Buddy Holly was so great at. Listen To Roy Orbison's lead guitar parts on his Sun recordings. There it is again. I consider it a regional style of guitar playing popularized by Buddy.
