I am in Victoria (near Ballarat). Born in Caulfield South in suburban Melbourne, but about 18 years after Lucky Starr had a hit with "I've Been Everywhere". I have read that Lucky is still performing along the central coast of NSW. He was in the Long Way To The Top shows, and I reckon he performed the old chestnut even quicker than he originally did.
Slim was a bit of an institution. One of my former bosses absolutely loved him. Harold was of the old school, and loved steam probably as much as he loved Slim's music. He even used to tell me that he knew Slim from years before, and that his sister taught Slim how to yodel. I don't know if any of it was true, but they were always interesting yarns which caught the imagination. It's a shame that Slim died so soon.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you know that there is another Aussie lurking within these walls.
