Bear Family records recently released a CD of 30 uptempo numbers from the Platters. It doesn't make them a rock-n-roll band, as the songs on here are mostly standards that jump and jive. But they were a HUGE act during the golden age of rock-n-roll, and toured on many of those package tours in the 50s. Considering the rap, disco, and pop artists that inhabit the hall, I think the Platters are more than welcome there.

By the way, the Mills Brothers aren't there, not even in the "Early Influences" category, but the Ink Spots are.
