of good quality rock history books I have read over the decades.

Is it possible that in this era of the interweb, where everyone can claim to know something without benefit of fact checking or discipline from a qualified editor, that misinformation is far more rampant?

That was obviously a rhetorical question. All forms of
"journalism" have declined thanks to social media, including
coverage of pop culture.

It's too bad the sources you have mentioned are spreading
unnecessary falsehoods about 2 of the greatest acts in the history of popular music.
