*** If you go to a concert and bought a cd would want the singer to autograph your cd? If you bought a book at a book signing would want Clinton or Trump to sign their book for you? ***

I think you summed it up pretty well... As far as the autographs I have obtained, almost all were obtained after shows/concerts and the reason I like to get autographs is mainly to have some of the artists work(s) signed by them-To me, an autograph on a CD/LP/ or whatever is the same as having the artist's signature on a painting. I don't collect autographs for monetary gain or anything like that... It's just as an added keepsake to their recorded musical output.

I only have two signed books, one by Linda Gail Lewis (Jerry Lee's sister) and one by somebody whose only a very well known fan among other fans of The Monkees and The Beatles, but I have their signatures in their books for the same reason I like signed CDs-As an additional keepsake for something I already collect(ed).
