I agree.

The idea of employing Jack White is really just
a way to make a certain age group take notice.

Whatever the source material is, I genuinely hope Mr. White
keeps his input to a bare minimum.

Are we not all up to our ears by now with badly doctored and
unnecessarily overdubbed buddy recordings?

Another, "modern era" producer, Rick Rubin, fully understood that there was more validity and power
in simple voice and acoustic guitar sessions by the great
Johnny Cash. Yes, they also recorded many sessions with a full band.

It would really be nice to find out what is actually on the tapes.
