Going to have to disagree. The wingtip striking the ground didn't lend itself to being a violent full force impact. The ensuing cartwheels is what helped the fuselage make it so far toward the fence. Of course, neither of us was present to see it, but it is very possible that at some point the plane was hurled for a good number of yards and as pure random happenstance would have it smashed the nose right into the post, with and without, both, enough force to destroy the plane without displacing the fencepost, which HAD TO HAVE BEEN damaged to SOME degree. Too bad dedicated photos were not taken of the fencepost. I think that the investigators did a less than thorough and adequate analysis. It was cold and windy and they wanted to be done with it in record time. They probably complained about being out there dealing with "stupid rock stars' bad decision". I can hear them now. Begrudging the ones that caused them to have to be out there, depriving them of their heated offices.
