The songs in question are the ones that Norman, for whatever crazy reason, had The Picks add backing vocals to... Given that, some folks seem(ed) to think that The Picks were Crickets all of a sudden, which couldn't be farther from the truth of it all.

It was a stupid thing to have the labels on their records saying "vocal group", when they were *not* a vocal group... Sure, Buddy and Niki did some backing on "Not Fade Away", and Niki (along with the Tolletts) were on "That'll be the Day", but "vocal group" to me is a group like The Coasters, or The Platters, or The Drifters, etc. and *not* a band like The Crickets with backing vocals added after the fact.

Norman should not have left that go: He should have not had their records labeled as a "vocal group"... I would have rather not had any of the overdubs done, but if he felt they "had to" have backings added, then the labels should have said "The Crickets, accompanied by The Picks" or something like that, the same way Elvis Presley's records were labeled as "Elvis Presley with The Jordanaires".
