 While Bob and his wife lived on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland here in Australia, the closest I ever got to interview him was by phone.

By no means an 'in depth' interview I did get the opportunity to ask him about his time with Norman. He stated he owed everything to Mr Petty for taking him 'under his wing' so to speak back in 1958 etc..

I tried again and again not realising of course that he had Parkinsons Disease. He was a real nice man but I always had the feeling he wanted to talk more about his producing skills.

He did an hour interview with a local Australian Country Music presenter (Nick Erby) many years ago but Erby is dead now so would be difficult to obtain a copy (if it still exists).
