 With regard to the so-called "British Invasion", I have always thought that Holly would probably have faded away with the other American pop artistes, collectively known as the bobbies. However, his songwriting abilities may have kept him going, rather as Neil Sedaka and a few others whose songwriting was strong managed to do.

Interestingly, the post Holly Crickets probably had a better chance of actually riding in on the the British style if they had timed it better! I always thought that "Don't Ever Change" had a B.I. edge to it, but came too soon. "Pretty Blue Eyes" might have fitted too. But I feel they would have had to relocate to Britain to do it, which seems unlikely.

I don't see Buddy Holly an outlaw really. Long hair, beards and drugs? Do you think?

As for old age, I don't think I'd get into modern jazz if I lived a thousand years. I'm a simple rock 'n' roller.
