Rather more info there than absolutely necessary Frank! Clearly I have confused "Livin Lovin Doll" with "Living Doll", although my recollections come largely from Move It and My Feet Hit The Ground. I recall an interview with Cliff himself on BBC one Sunday evening when he told the story of Move It. That conflicts with most of the quotes given in that website, particularly Norrie Paramor's, but the players are correct. According to Cliff, it was Samwell who asked Ernie Shear to play the lead. Shear said OK, he would play the intro and the next two bars, then the others would come in. Samwell comes in on rhythm on cue, and if you listen carefully you can hear it. Shear then dropped out and carried on playing the lead licks when Cliff started singing. However, that meant that Addey had to lift the level of Samwell's guitar to match Shear's so that the switch would be seamless, and that's why the rhythm guitar is so big in the mix and that's what made it such a big hit. He also said that this was done behind Paramor's back, because he had left the session to go to an appointment he had elsewhere. When he heard it, he wasn't happy about it, but let it go because it was only the flipside.
