As usual, you have composed a worthy and eloquent tribute to
our good friend and 50's guru, Mr. Griggs.

I am quite shocked it has been 10 years since we lost him.

I have said before, and with full deference and apologies
to our Catholic friends, the best description for what Bill meant to us, is that he was the "pope" of Holly/Crickets fans thanks to his dogged desire to get to the facts and his
determination to promoter, preserve and protect Buddy's legacy.

We did have some minor differences of opinion. One I recall
was a spirited discussion regarding the Picks and the overdubs they forced upon the world. I'll just say Mr. Griggs was somewhat more forgiving than I.

If Bill was with us now, I'm sure he would be delighted with
the performing arts center now nearing completion. I can easily imagine him being offered a seat on the administrative board of that facility, and can further imagine how he would have made us proud in any capacity.

It is nice to know that Bill's adopted home recognized his contributions, prior to his passing.

I have always felt honoured to have known him.
