As I posted some time back, I had the privilege of seeing Ken Nelson speak at a big Rockabilly Show in the San Fernando Valley in 2005 entitled "Bop Street", which may be the last appearance together of Blue Caps Johnny Meeks, Dickie "Be Bop" Harrell, and Tommy "Bubba" Facenda. He spoke about his belief then that Rock 'n' Roll was the coming thing and had the foresight to see that Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps were in the forefront of this new musical trend that would last. Despite the age factor, he was quite lucid and I was very impressed with his presentation.
He lived a long life and hopefully quite a rewarding one. Even so, I still very much mourn his passing.
