I'm all for historical accuracy, especially given this is to be the definitive set. If assigned master numbers help establish recording dates, I personally prefer to see them. However, it seems we'll have to be content with what the powers that be will release.
As for the voices, the recording quality makes it difficult to be certain, but it seems to me that Jack's voice is slightly deeper than Bob's. It could very well be Jack and Buddy singing together on 'I'll Just Pretend'.
It's amazing how we can remember what we do. For Jack to be able to reflect back on a recording made 57 years ago just astounds me.
