 Because it is one generation removed from original tape recording.
i.e. The Roses vocals were overdubbed at a later date.

I have heard that there is a framed acetate or demo of Lonesome Tears on the wall at Clovis with a date on it which indicates it may well be the undubbed version.

Does anybody know anything about this ?
