And too bad you're stopping at 1954. "Jumpin' from Six to Six" from January 1955 and "Cat Music" from May of 1955 (both on the 4-Star label) are more evolved examples of Tommy Scott merging country and boogie woogie.

Seriously, if you want to see the progressive influence of country and western swing on the evolution of rockabilly and rock & roll, you should listen to the collected works of Ramblin' Tommy Scott in chronological order. Although he built his reputation on country and western swing in the 40s, the guy was NOT married to one genre of music. Man, he kept movin'...and jumpin'!

And what's wild is that Tommy is STILL ALIVE, living here in the Carolinas, and still doing his thing, last I heard.
