Thanks Mike

I do realize that I misspoke, or rather truncated my thought with that comment.

I was intending to say that in so far as Buddy's overall legacy is concerned, MEH never did much of anything to promote, preserve and protect.

The late great Bill Griggs did a thousand times more, and yet he had no legal authority at all. Would you not agree that being the widow of a pioneering rock and roll legend involves a degree of responsibility?

Most long time observers of the waxing and waning of Buddy's legacy are of the opinion that the overriding motivation of MEH was making sure that she always got paid.

Of course that is perfectly fine and proper, but what about giving something back in the way of advocating for more and better quality reissues, speaking out against the 80's overdubs by the Picks, promoting and enhancing celebrations and festivals of Buddy's music?

There are a multitude of ways MEH could have supported the the enhancement and growth of Buddy's musical legacy.

Of course she should never be blamed for bootlegs, but if she were as big a fan of the music as she was of litigation, she could have advocated for authorized releases of high quality recordings such as the famous apartment tapes, long before they appeared on bootlegs.

To your main point, I should have used the word "Influence" rather that "control".

Cheers
