That's the five I have Lothar. It's always puzzled me why Tommy Allsup did not gain greater fame in the 60's.There were for sure plenty of lesser skilled guitarists making names for themselves.
On the subject of guitarists who played for B.H., it's interesting to note that Don Arnone (who later played the lead on the Jack Hansen apartment tapes overdubs), first played for Buddy on the "Rave On" session at Bell in New York. Also on that session was Al Caiola.
The great session player George Barnes played on "Early In The Morning", along with Al Chernet.
There is a credit to an "unknown Guitarist" playing rhythm on "Brown Eyed Handsome Man". I'm fairly sure that it would have been Niki Sullivan, but I have not been able to confirm this. Anyone have the info on that?
