I know I'm not who you asked this question, but in my opinion, the two phrases are quite close... A lot of people like to think that Buddy wouldn't have gone down the "Bouncy, Bouncy" trail, but the example you sighted makes a good case for the opposite... In fact, I will probably be pelted with stones for saying it, but I could picture Buddy having done something in the same vein as "Rubber Ball" (AKA "Bouncy, Bouncy")... In his recording, Bobby Vee even makes attempts at singing in the trademarked Holly style, so it's not to far to see what could have been...
