Subject: The Buddy Holly Footage

Dear Mr Lajos Polya,

Thank you for your interest in the collection at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Please note that I am not in the moving image department. However, after researching our moving image holdings, I can confirm that in 2012 we sought and received private grant funding to preserve seven 8mm home movie reels belonging to the Everly family. In the total run time of slightly over 28 minutes for these seven reels, there is footage of Buddy Holly sitting in an automobile and standing outside of an automobile. This footage lasts for a total of about 15-20 seconds.

The original home movie footage has been returned to Everly family contact who loaned it to us for preservation. Our hope is that sometime in the future, this footage of both the Everly Brothers, their family, and possibly Buddy Holly will be used in a museum exhibition.

We do not own any rights to this footage, nor do we have the rights to release or distribute it in any manner. Iím grateful that we were given access to these historic home movie reels and were able to receive funding to have them preserved.

I hope this email answers your questions regarding this very important historic footage.

Best regards,

Alan Stoker
