Rumors are fun, but here's a few facts for you to peruse. 2007 was a great year for the TPSA and '08 is shaping up to be better yet! For starters we have 11 races booked to date, new teams, new tracks, new sponsors, and our major sponsors are back as well. Unfortunately, attrition is a part of racing and some teams may not be back, or back for the full schedule. Recently, Pigford, Hanson, Elliott, RJ Dorsett, Winscott, Talley, the 4 "Hill Country Boyz", & Conrad told me they're committed to TPSA for '08. The last time I spoke to Otwell, Storrs, Pearce, and Worley they indicated they would be back as well. That's 15 teams and hopefully some of the other members can make at least some of the races and maybe we'll pick some up from the Abilene & DFW area. I believe going into '08 the "core" group is larger & stronger than it was at this time last year. Feel free to contact me about your concerns, questions, or suggestions. Thanks
I haven't had a chance to speak to every team recently about their plans for '08 and I wanted the response to "concerned" to be factual at the time of the post. The teams of Ashabranner, Cowger/Wood, Naylor, Rigmaiden, Staiger, and Williams have been staunch supporters of the TPSA and hopefully they will all return for '08. They weren't mentioned simply because their plans for next year had not been confirmed at the time of the post. Donalson, and a couple of new teams that are working on projects were not listed for the same reason. My apologies for not making that clear previously. -- DH, 12/11/07 12:42pm |
