HERE is a SUMMARY of the MEAN-14 RULES.
---------------------------------------------------
FIT THESE and COME and RACE

The MEAN-14
Rules Summary

Any tire size is allowed between the class set maximum and minimum, with the maximum being a *MEASURED width of 14.4 inches of tread width and the class set minimum of 12.5 inches with a measured 12.5 inches at minimum and a designation of 12.5 inch slick clearly marked on the tire by the manufacturer.
This will be to standardize the “look” of the class and allow some flexibility for the different chassis styles but the use of the class standard factory designated 14.0 inch drag slick is highly encouraged.

Weights: Per Rules:

Cars will be weighed with driver. All weights are *Minimum weights required
Any size Normally Aspirated engine without nitrous/supercharging {706 c.i. limit} 2500 lbs.
Small block with Nitrous {can be up to 2 stages} {460 c.i. max} 2750 lbs.
Big Block with Nitrous {can be up to 2 stages} 2900lbs.
SINGLE or DUAL Turbocharged Small Blocks 3200 lbs.
Big Block Roots, Centrifugal Supercharged or Dual Turbocharger 3200 lbs

Weight Breaks
** All Mild Steel full chassis {any engine combo up to 706 c.i.} deduct 100lbs.
** All Mild Steel Back-Half chassis {any engine combo up to 706 c.i.} deduct 150lbs.
** All Chrome-Moly chassis applications must run at base weights given above.

Chassis:

*Full Tube chassis cars allowed but not required.
All NHRA safety rules will apply for whatever E.T. class that chassis is capable of running.
All entrants’ vehicles must display a current NHRA chassis certification sticker.
All cars must have two working doors at minimum.
*The weight rules apply to the engine combinations no matter the chassis style.
*ALL Competing Chassis’ *Must be NHRA certified to at least 8.50 minimum. Chassis certification must comply with the racetrack and/or sanctioning bodies required guidelines in regards to speeds and ET's obtained.

*Car Weight: SEE WEIGHT RULES and weight break guidelines.
Decals or lettering on the paint is to be kept to a minimum

Engines and Engine Combinations:

Small Blocks

Small Block cubic inch limit will be 460 cubic inches. Any engine combination larger than this will be considered a Big Block engine. No further engine limitations to small block engine combinations will apply at this time. Rules may be revised in accordance as need arrives.

Big Block Chevrolet / G.M. -

Base engine combination is limited to 706 cubic inches *maximum by class rules. All entries are potentially subject to P & G. Any OEM style Mark IV design cast iron or aluminum cylinder head configuration is allowed. Big Chief, Big Duke, Oldsmobile, Pontiac or "Pro Stock" style spread port cylinder heads allowed but *No Less than an 18 degree intake valve angle. Aftermarket engine blocks are allowed in either aluminum or cast iron, 4.840 bore spacing only. Tall deck cylinder blocks are allowed, however they may be subject to P & G to verify the maximum cubic inch displacement of 706 max.

Big Block Ford -

All Ford entries are potentially subject to P & G due to block design and are class limited to 706 cubic inches. Pro stock-style HEMI cylinder heads are prohibited. *** The minimum weight for this combination with driver is enforced by the weight rules.

Big Block Chrysler -

All Chrysler entries are potentially subject to P & G due to block design and are class limited to 706 cubic inches. Cylinder heads allowed are the following; any cast Hemi head with water flow, the original Chrysler B-1 cylinder head, or Indy Cylinder head part #'s 57213 and 60013. All pro stock-style cylinder Hemi head castings are prohibited. The minimum weight for this combination is 2450# with driver.

TURBOCHARGED Applications

All Turbocharged applications are bound by the rules that apply to *Supercharged small and big blocks as to the required weight limits. Any turbocharged applications are restricted from any use of nitrous anywhere on the competing chassis or engine
combination.

Electronics

Any forms of Nitrous or Boost controllers are not allowed and will not be accepted in this series of racing. These boxes/electronics will be subject to tech at anytime during qualifying and eliminations and also subject to tech in the staging lanes. All other electronic devices allowed except optical censoring devise that work off of tree and *any type traction control devices. Team GTR is allowing delay boxes to be mounted “in Car” because many race cars are wired thru the delay boxes for other classes, and it would require rewiring to remove the electronics, and this could create a hardship for the multi class racers or any racer attempting to “fold-over” into the Mean 14 class of racing.

Throttle Stops

No throttle Stops allowed on or in any car competing in this class. Throttle stop(s) cannot be physically located anywhere on the race vehicle.

Transmission

Any type auto transmission allowed. Converter driven transmissions allowed and any automatic transmission allowed. All cars must have neutral safety switch. Any OEM factory type automobile automatic transmission is allowed. Aftermarket cases or bellhousings are allowed. Trans-brakes are allowed. Clutch-type transmissions are allowed with 200 lb weight adder. Bruno, Lenco or any other of that type aftermarket converter-driven transmissions are allowed but with same 200 lb weight adder.

“Break-Out” 4.80 in the Eighth-Mile
Although this is basically a “Heads-Up” class there is a “Break-Out” limit in effect for this class. The “Break-Out” for the Madness Series “Mean-14” class is 4.80 seconds in the eighth-mile. This “Break-out” is in place in our attempt to keep the class competitive and affordable to the sportsman racers of our community.

In the final round only, the “break-out” guideline of 4.80 will not apply. All other rules, guidelines, engine restrictions, body guidelines, chassis rules, tire and weight restrictions etc. will be in effect. The “breakout” will be removed for both competitors that have succeeded to the final round for a true ALL-OUT, “Run what you Brung” final round.

Fit in here, grab some guts, slap some 14's ON and come and RUN for the MONEY!!
