This board does not have alot of BS and gossip, basically a place for members to check for news and such. This board has always been "dead" cept for a little ribbing by fellow competitiors. If you really enjoy it do something to help. This class is no different than Pro Mod, Outlaw 10.5 or any other HEADS UP class, financial backing will help you get near the top faster - BUT MONEY don't win races - spending it in the right places, having the right people on your team, etc. does. Quit hatin In reply to: I miss the old TPSA 's message, "This message board appears as dead as this class is looking. With Dictatorship like that of Joe G. this class seems to be headed down hill. I love watching you guys, you used to put on a good show. With the "I will win at any cost" attitude you guys have killed your own class. What are you going to do to get the members back that have left? I dont believe you will get many invites back with just 5 or 6 cars putting on a show. I wish you luck as I do enjoy a show but it dont look like it is going to be that exciting in the future." on 02/ 3/08 8:47am [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Replies: [> my reply to "miss".....***CLICK HERE*** -- DH, 02/ 3/08 5:35pm Well "miss", not sure where the "Joe G" comparison came from because TPSA is mostly a democracy (majority rules)....are you sure you're on the right board?...LOL. You say that we "used to put on a good show". Did you attend any of our events in the '07 season that featured 5 different winners and 7 different ru's? Not to mention the tightest points battles in the last five years. How about 14-16 cars per event with record qualifying times from the top to the bottom? Would we be a better and more entertaining show for you and the other fans if we limited et's to 5.20's, and backhalf cars only? There are plenty of programs already out there for bracket/index racing if that's what you're looking for. Which "old TPSA" do you miss? These are the best of times for the most recent edition of a group that has been around in some form since the '70's. If the '07 season is an indication of how the class is dying, I hope the trend continues. As you probably are aware, we recently had the TPSA Banquet. After the festivities, a short business meeting for members was held. The discussion of the cost of racing is always present, but the overwhelming majority of car owners (and sponsors) agreed in the direction of the class and to not institute rules for the sole purpose of slowing down or "capping" performance. Regardless of their disposable income amount or their car's performance level, the vast majority voiced their support of the present rules and structure. The same basic rules that have been in place for the past five years and the class is stronger, faster, larger, and more competitive than ever. It would appear that your opinion conflicts directly with the majority of those who are participating in the class. Also, at the Banquet, it was very apparent there would be many more than the "5 or 6 cars" you predict for the '08 season. You note the "members that have left". Actually, there are very few of us left that were members back in '03. Simply put, plans change, priorities change, and stuff happens...not just to your racing plans, but life in general. No doubt we'll miss those who moved, quit racing, put their racing on hold for a bit, or just changed direction, but there are new members to ease some of that burden. The TPSA does not profess to be a class to suit everyone but it continues to offer a place for those who want to race heads up in a family environment with stable rules. Your post would carry much more weight and be more topical if your dire predictions had already come to pass. Have some patience and see what the '08 season brings. By the way, we're always looking for suggestions, race day help, or anything that will help to advance the class. See ya in the lanes. DH [ Post a Reply to This Message ] [Edit]
