Subject: ***NAYLOR nabs 1st win, CHAD captures 2nd runner up for the Hansons***

In what has become the scenario for much of the ‘06 season, the skies over Pine Vallley Raceway were dark and rain was visible in several directions early Saturday morning. Mr. Bill Bailey made the call about 1pm and said it was on....it was gonna have to wash us out to keep us from racing. It did sprinkle a couple of times but the program started without much of a delay.

After the 2nd round of qualifying, DH’s 4.92 led the pack with Naylor, Otwell, Hughes, Staiger, and Hanson all joining him in the 4 second zone. Once again, the pack had tightened up, and it was obvious the teams had found some performance gains.

First round had “Dandy” Elliott advancing over Aaron Hubbard, Otwell (once again with Ben’s spare motor) trailered Worley, Hanson was automatically in the next round, when the “Boxman” Hughes turned on a .392 red, Conrad’s .383 red gave DH a free pass into round two, and Naylor’s 4.917 parked Staiger’s 4.919 in a great side by side race. Lee has battled some gremlins all year, but is returning to the performance levels he displayed early in the season.

Round two featured Otwell,s .407rt, 4.97 defeating Elliott’s .409rt, 5.18, (great lite by both guys), Hanson going to the semi’s by virtue of DH’s .394 red, and Naylor drew the bye and improved to a 4.89 @141.38.

Semi action had Hanson with the bye, and in the best race of the season, Naylor’s .5083 initiated 4.9027 snuck by Otwell’s, .4531rt, 4.9581 by .0002!...to the fourth digit....are you kiddin’ me?! It wasn’t close, it was microscopic.

It was now time for the finals and Ed reportedly found some nodoze for his pilot because he knew the kid, Hanson, would be on time. It must have worked, Naylor out first with a .421 to Hanson’s .430 and Hanson’s best pass of the nite @ 4.96 could not catch the low et and top mph of the event for Naylor and Ed, 4.8779 @ 141.78. The “Bedrock” crew has been puttin’ in a lot a late hours and the testing paid dividends for this team with their first TPSA win. In fact, Jim won his first round of the year at the last race @ HMP. Congratulations to the Naylor team on a great job. The pits were buzzing long after the final with their performance at Pine Valley and the fact they were able to improve from a 4.94 qualifying best to the stellar 4.877 in eliminations.

Special thanks go out to the Bailey family, (Bill had the track in excellent condition as usual), the staff @ Pine Valley Raceway and the fans that came out despite the threat of bad weather.

Next event will be August 5th @ Houston Motorsports Park.
