Aaron Hubbard claimed his 3rd career TPSA victory via a stunning holeshot...

The Team "O" powerhouse had a productive outing claiming the Bounty on the "Pigman",
making it to the final, and leaving Abilene as the new points leader.

The Texas Pro Stock Association put on a great show this evening. Take a look at the By Round data on the Winner's Circle page and we might be glad they didn't put a dial on these things and run the brackets. Aaron Hubbard of Fort Worth came out on top, killing the tree in the final round with a .0019 reaction time and clocking 4.86 at 141.55 MPH. That reaction time is against a .400 Pro Tree, and the run was made about 1:30AM on Sunday morning! Aaron went 4.88, 4.88, 4.87 on his way to the final round. Runner Up Richard Otwell of Conroe held up his end, running 4.88, 4.72, 4.71 on the way to the final. After all that, he got lit up in the final and ran an off pace 4.96 at 122 MPH.(end of copy & paste)

What an exciting event and wonderful facility. The Kennedy's, have owned the property for a very short time and when you drive up to the front gate it's very obvious they take pride in, and are constantly spending the effort to make this the place to race in West Texas. Dean Kennedy's wife, Alva, said they have been spending 6 days a week at the track preparing for this grand opening event. That's a good little jog from their home in Brownwood! Both of the "senior" Kennedy's were quick to acknowledge the help and dedication of the "junior" Kennedy's, Sean & Kelly, and all of the staff, and sponsors of the track. It is a family affair. Check out their homepage @ www.abilenedragstrip.com for more pics and info.

Thank you from all of us @ the TPSA to the Kennedy family, the entire staff & sponsors, and those West Texas fans that braved the cooler temps...it was great for racing, but a little cool for spectatin'. Our east Texas members that aren't that familiar with west Texas people came away impressed with the courtesy, enthusiasm, and hardiness of ya'll.

Much more race stuff tomorrow or whenever the Nyquil wears off! Thanks to all of the teams that made our first trek out west a sucess, and special mention to new member Lance Abbott (and Mom & Dad) with the shiny new S-10 truck, by the way..ya'll forgot to pick up your cash after the race. By the way part II, we forgot to give Richard Otwell the Lidiak Motorsports "Bounty" cash but it's in safe hands...LOL.

On a personal note, great to see an ol' friend after 30 years (Ken Hostetter, wife Michelle, and a nearly grown up daughter I'd never met), and to Aaron Cole and his bride Linda, for driving up from Galveston to help "Trapper" Aaron get to the final....
