In my opinon [with which you will no doubt disagree] kids need to be informed about sex and safe sexual practices by the time that their hormones start raging. Lack of education [as you have clearly demonstrated] is a dangerous thing. Students need to have an understanding of sex in order to make intelligent choices for their safety and that of their partner. By not providing this information, we are turning our backs to the potential dangers. Some people will assume that if sex education is removed from schools, then the students won't have sex. Ideally, it might be nice to think this way, and assume that everyone is going to wait until they are of legal age or married or whatever. Guess again. They are going to experiment whether the schools teach sex education or not. Anyone who disagrees is naive.

Do not misunderstand what I am saying. I don't think that we should be giving graphic detail of sexual practices to 5 year olds. However, children should be given information incrementally as they grow up, so that by the time they do begin thinking about sex on their own [whether that is age 12, 14, 16...whenever] they have a full understanding and can make educated decisions. Do not doubt this for a second. Ignorance on this matter will lead only to STD's and teenage pregnancy.

I hope this answers your question. I'm looking forward to visiting whichever low-budget homemade right-wing zealot website that contradicts rational thought on this matter that you are going to share with us.

Just out of curiosity, at which age do you think that kids should think about sex?
