Heh. Naaaah, she's actually an "older woman." Okay, so she's only six months older, but...

I'm writing as a person who has been in two relationships with women who were notably older than I (15 years or more). In both cases, I well out of my teens. Also, my father was 16 years older than my mother. That said, I'd like to level my my primary criticism at Steven: He should have said, "I'll kick the crap out of you" rather than "I'll kill you." It's much less actionable.

I've said before that I'm tired of various media outlets treating kids like small versions of adults. They are not. They are kids, and they think like kids. Then they become adolescents, and they cease to think at all. Gradually, as time passes, if we are lucky, they will learn to think like adults. Remarkable daughter or not, Brooke has not been in this world long enough to understand it. She is in a very different place than a 27 year old. He's probably already become the person he will be for life; she has yet to figure out who the person she will become is--let alone grow into being her.
