Well, all my teaching experience is at the college level, not high school, but several of my closest friends are high school teachers, and I have other associates who have many years of experience teaching high school. On behalf of all of them, I submit that you haven't the foggiest clue what the bloody heck you are talking about.

Here

Are you seriously under the delusion that the standing and lecturing is all there is to teaching? That's not even true for a teacher the caliber of...Lipschultz. For a teacher who is worth his or her salt, 8 hours per day above and beyond classroom time is not unreasonable, and that includes weekends.

I'm not even going to dignify that by pretending to believe it so I can criticize it.

If it's such a snap with such great rewards, then why aren't you doing it? There's a shortage of teachers, you know. Be rich. Don't work.

I know several people in finance, and even more in law. Yes, the hours are long--but still comparable with the hours teachers devote to their work. And all the people I know in those fields drive their own cars.
