Just copying my message to Pat Drew here. glad you reached out.

Dear Pat,

Yes you have the correct Margot Sachs- I have been since 1972 Margot Lansing; my husband and I met in Berkeley as graduate students; I received a PhD in French (sounds very quaint now) and he in Comparative Literature and Italian. We live in Wellesley MA and have one daughter who lives in Boston with her boyfriend. We moved East in 1971 when I was teaching French at UMASS Amherst and then found the academic two career couple a real challenge so I left but have stayed in the vicinity first as an admissions administrator and now in search. My husband Richard retired last June from Brandeis where he was a professor and I have had a consulting firm doing executive search for colleges and universities with a partner. We are phasing out since the world of search in universities is becoming somewhat toxic.

Sorry to healer about your husband; that is the biggest challenge for all of us as we grow older-ill health. I have become President of a group here called Wellesley Neighbors which is part of the national village to village movement; if there is one near where you live it is worth looking into. Each village is different but it is a community within the community that helps us age in place and stay in our homes with support and social connections. I have met over 100 wonderful people in my town whom I had never known before. Village to Village has a website with a listing of all the villages.

I suppose our paths will not cross unless you find yourself in Boston; at one time we did work in Philadelphia but not for some time. It was good to hear from you. Letís stay in touch by email and perhaps who knows when our paths will cross again.

Best,

Margot

Ps I have no contacts from Scarborough; for awhile I was in touch with Joan Laskey since our families were friends; she lives in Charlotte
