Laurie I do understand the difficulties that success has brought to you and the club.
As someone that missed out on a number the previous week i decided to pre book this week to ensure my place, but I did think "well what will happen when everyone starts doing this?"
So here are my thoughts based on my understanding that riders must go a one minute intervals and only 50 riders can participate.
1. All members that pay up front for a season will be "offered" a squad number based on the time they would like to ride. For example number 30 would go off 30 mins after the start time.
2. Squad members will be expected to inform you ASAP if they are unable to ride and if they fail to do so you may, at your discretion remove them from the squad. This will encourage many members to pay for a whole season reducing the number of people waiting for you to arrive so they can sign on.
3. All other members wishing to ride will arrive at least 15 mins beofre the start time to sign on. On three occasions during a season they can pre-book by telephone call or email to you but this is only confirmed when you reply accepting their booking.
4. Guest riders will have to wait until all squad members and members have been allocated a place and will not be permitted to pre book.
5. In the situation where the club has more than 50 squad members and members (this could happen as my proposal may see more people paying up front for a season and/or joining the club) then places will be offered based on the length of time a person has been a member, the longest serving obviously offered before recent members.
I look forward to enjoying another season of riding with you all. But, unfortunately will not be with you next week.
