I had the offical Journey myspace connected on my myspace and put it at the very top of my list.

I had shared my distaste of arnel pineda using constructive criticism. I did not spam as it has a set control of for not allowing one to make comments everyday. I also shared my love for Journey (of the past and Steve Perry). the last comment I stated "why was there uneccessary pressure on Steve Perry when he had that medical condition. Was there no compassion or respect?". I even shared how i think neal schon should apologize to Steve Perry. I never displayed any profanity or out of control behavior. Journey simply does not want anyone to diagree with them at ANY DEGREE. I have been a fan of theirs since I was a young girl. I REALIZE THAT THE GOODNESS CAME FROM STEVE PERRY. JOURNEY IS FULL OF CONTROL...there is a sense of evil brewing on their faces and tainting their hearts...I cherish the OLD songs in my hearts. I DO NOT CARE FOR THEM ANYMORE.

HOW dare they treat a fan this way...
i think the MEDIA should know about this stance Journey is taking on their fans.....

I'm so upset about Journey and the decisions they're making....to replace Steve Perry is rude to us as the fans and rude to Steve Perry. What an ill act of nature on Neal Schon's part (once again)! I love journey but i hate them right now...please read my blog & let me know how u feel too :

I AGREE WITH YOU. ARNEL PINEDA IS A RIDICULOUS KAROKE SINGER. I WANT STEVE PERRY BACK WITH JOURNEY. I'M NOT PUTTING MY MONEY INTO JOURNEY UNTIL THEY HAVE STEVE PERRY BACK.

The name of this beautiful journey song is called "Winds of March and it is featured on the Infinity album."
They don't make songs like this anymore.

Obviously Journeys most commercially successful album and my favorite until (and i will be dissed for this by the 'Perry' die-hards. Too bad.) .....until 'Arrival' came out with Augeri.

The other day I saw a commercial for Vh1's show Big in'05. While they were showing current celebrity pictures I noticed a clip of Steve Perry back in the Escape days. As soon as I got home today I signed on and checked out Vh1.com and went to Big in '05 and sure enough Journey is in two categories!!!! So if anyone wants Steve to get recognition from the younger crowd (I'm about to turn 16 myself but I absolutely LOVE Steve and I can only convert so many of my friends) go and vote for Journey!

"Stone In Love" with this work. Everyone I knew at the time everywhere I went had this album... even elevator music which of course couldn't compare. The title track and "Stone in Love" are what do it for me even today. Back then it was cruising the streets and if you wanted to enhance your evening looking for a datepop in the tape roll down the windows and crank it up!

My very first rock concert ever was the Escape Tour performance at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on July 2, 1982. This was a monumental moment in my life. Journey was the first Band I really loved and my fantasies about our beloved Mr. Perry were, well unfit for public discussion:-).

I was 15 years old and it was the summer between 10th and 11th grade. I went with my boyfriend and two other friends(My boyfriend went back to his truck after Triumph because he was jealous of my feelings about Steve Perry). We arrived at the Rose Bowl something like 16 hours before the gates opened. (I believe it was the last "Festival Seating" concert to be held at the Rose Bowl).

Inspite of our seemingly early arrival we still only managed to get 50 yard line seats. However since this was the first concert EVER to use the Jumbo Tron screens, I didn't miss a move! My friend Stacy and I had cameras and we snapped pic after pic that developed into 3x5 photos of a pool of light surrounded by darkness and little specks that were infact band members!

As long as I live I will never forget that day. I still remember nearly every word to every song on the Escape album (as well as all the others). After this show I promptly went out and bought the entire collection of Journey Albums released to that point. I have since collected most of the releases on CD. I still have them all on vinal! I also attended another 3 Journey concerts over the next few years but as the "Escape" ensamble began to diband the group fell apart.

I saw the counterfit Journey perform at a "June Fest" in Las Vegas, NV back in 2001. The new guy Steve O'Gerry (come on how wierd IS that) is a freakish clone of the original. I give him credit for trying to fill the shoes of The Voice but he really fell a little short...he couldn't quite reach all the high notes. His appearence is clearly an attempt to emulate the original Steve only his hair is curly. It just wasn't the same:~(

Very few bands have an album like this. Very few bands can claim such a rich legacy during the era (1978-1988) that defined the MTV generation. The band, that during that time became one of the greatest rock bands in music, was Journey, and the album, that defined an era of countless relationships, break-ups, hopes and dreams, was Escape an album which became the cornerstone of a band whose music became a staple in the lives of those in their late teens and early twenties that MTV generation.

Track one, Dont Stop Believin, written by Steve Perry, Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon, is my favorite Journey tune of all-time, as well as my favorite on this album. I love this tune because of the rhythm. I never tire of listening to it, whether it is on this album or periodically when I hear it on 100.7 WZLX, my Classic Rock radio station in Boston. I love the guitar solo, I love the piano intro and I love the lead vocal. Its very soulful and rich. This tune features Steve Perry on lead vocal, Neal Schon on guitar and background vocals, Jonathan Cain on piano, Ross Valory on bass guitar and Steve Smith on drums. This tune evokes a positive vibe that keeps me going.

Track two, Stone In Love, written by Steve Perry, Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon, is OK. The only two things that are good about this tune is Steve Perrys vocal. I love the vocal harmony. Mr. Perry truly is The Voice. Neal Schons guitar riff at the end if this tune sounds like a siren. I think thats cool. But thats it. On rhythm, we have Steve Perry on lead vocal, Neal Schon and Jon Cain on guitars, Ross Valory on bass guitar and Steve Smith on drums. Steve Perrys vocal is great, but thats it.

Track three, Whos Crying Now, written by Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain, is one of the most melodic and beautifully written songs ever recorded. I love the vocal harmony, I love Neal Schons guitar riff, and I love the piano intro. Its one of the most gorgeous melodies ever written, next to Faithfully, When You Love A Woman and Open Arms. On rhythm, we have Steve Perry on lead vocal, Neal Schon on guitar and background vocal, Jon Cain on piano and background vocal, Ross Valory on bass guitar and Steve Smith on drums. Its great. I even played it on my alto saxophone.

Track four, Keep On Runnin, written by Steve Perry, Jon Cain and Neal Schon, is good. Steve Perrys vocal is too high, but the background vocal harmony is cool, and I love Neal Schons guitar riff at the beginning and the end. His solo is cool too. On rhythm, we have Steve Perry on lead vocal, Steve Smith on drums, Jon Cain and Neal Schon on guitars, and Ross Valory on bass guitar. Its got a great fast paced rhythm.

Track five, Still They Ride, written by Steve Perry and Jon Cain, is a nice ballad for this album, but it lacks something that Open Arms has. I dont know what it is though. This tune has a cool guitar solo, and I love the backbeat and piano playing behind Perrys vocal. This is Escapes power ballad. Perrys vocal is good, and Jon Cains piano is very lilting and romantic. Neals guitar solo is cool too. We have Steve Perry on lead vocal, Steve Smith on drums, Jon Cain and Neal Schon on guitars, and Ross Valory on bass guitar. This tune lacks what Open Arms has.

Track six, Escape, the title track, by Steve Perry, Jon Cain and Neal Schon, is my least favorite on this album because it seems as though Neal is drowning everyone out. I like Jon Cains keyboard riffs though. Neal Schons guitar riffs seem boring and mundane. The vocal harmony is OK. I found myself looking at the running time on my CD player to find out when it would be over. We have Steve Perry on lead vocal, Steve Smith on drums, Jon Cain and Neal Schon on guitars, and Ross Valory on bass guitar. Perry has put everything onto it as usual, and hes good. But, it begins with Perry and ends with Perry if anything.

Track seven, Lay It Down, written by Steve Perry, Neal Schon and Jon Cain, is a good mid-tempo rocker. I love the vocal harmony. But as far as the rhythm goes, it seems like Neal and Jon are drowning Steve out. Perrys vocal is too high as well. The backbeat is cool though. We have Steve Perry on lead vocal, Steve Smith on drums, Jon Cain and Neal Schon on guitars, and Ross Valory on bass guitar.

Track eight, Dead or Alive, written by Steve Perry, Jon Cain and Neal Schon, is cool. I love the rhythm. Neals riff is cool. I love Steve Perrys vocal. Its cool. Jon Cains piano work is jammin. I think its cool. We have Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Jon Cain, Ross Valory and Steve Smith all working hard on this tune.

Track nine, Mother, Father, written by Neal Schon, Steve Perry, Jon Cain and M. Schon (Neal Schons father), is a good rocker. I love the vocal harmony. Neal Schons guitar solo is rockin, but the vocal is the best here. Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Jon Cain, Ross Valory and Steve Smith are great.

And last, but not least, track ten, Open Arms, written by Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain, is a supremely beautiful tune. The lead vocal from Steve Perry and the piano work from Jon Cain is gorgeous. But, despite that, I like Faithfully, from the Frontiers album better. You know why in a later review.

Overall, Escape is Journeys greatest album to date, within the entire history of the group (1973-present) because the music has stood the test of time and made my listening journey all the more worth while.
