This is a fascinating question, but I don't think it will come up at GCSE.
If you are geuninely interested:
1. You can read the debate my pupils had about it on this forum - click on Archive 2 in the top right corner.
2. You can check out the video debates by pupils at the International School of Toulouse on http://www.intst.net/humanities/igcsehist/term4/appeasement/debate.htm
3. If you are REALLY into it, John Simkin (of Spartacus) and I had an enthusiastic debate about it on the teachers' History forum. Basically, I think Chamberlain was a great man and that appeasement was all he could do at the time; John Simkin says that Churchill was right and that Britain should have made an alliance with Russia (you can follow our debate, in amongst the other comments, on http://www.schoolhistory.co.uk/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=6&t=1149&s=9ab95d182a44ef6bedffc47aac9e00e0)
But I wouldn't seond too much time on it at this stage in your revision!
