The League of Nations and the UN are both basically peace keeping organisations. In a sense the LoN was a forerunner to the UN both of which consisted of many of the world's nations. The main differences is they existed at different time, the League of Nations was created after World War I whereas the UN is a far more recent organisation. There are of course some minor diiferences- the base of the League of Nations was in Geneva, the UN's base is in New York. If you have any more queries don't hesitate to write back.
