Subject: What I Think Of Appeasement!!!!!!!!!

Hiya, all you history fans.

First of all appeasement was pursued for several reasons, some of which I do and don’t agree with. They are:

• Some British people approved of Hitler’s policies:- like attacking communists, trade unionists and pacifists. Which were the policies the Conservation party followed. Which I don’t agree with.

• Some British people hoped that a strong Germany would stop the growth of Russian communism:- They did not Russian communism to spread westward. Which I’m not sure weather I do or don’t agree with.

• Many people felt that the events in Europe were none of Britain’s business. They thought Britain was to far away and weak to help:-They didn’t think that they should have to build trenches and try on gas masks because of a quarrel in a far away country said by Neville chamberlain. Which I do agree with because at the end of the day why should we fight and die for someone who might not help us.

• Many people wanted peace and thought the treaty of Versailles was too harsh:-everyone seemed unhappy with the terms. I to thought the terms were a little too harsh but it was the nazis fault there country was suffering no-one else’s.

In the end the appeasement in my own views was a total failure. It gave Hitler the advantage to grow stronger. Hitler thought he could do anything which helped cause WW2. Hitler made a fool out of chamberlain proving he had no experience in international politics. Appeasement left hundreds of Czechs and Austrians in brutal Nazi territory.

In The end the appeasement was a humiliation to Britain. Although it started as a genuine attempt to keep peace by a man who did not want to see hundreds of young men dieing needlessly it ended up a disaster.
