"Dr. Strickland is doing something with endothelin levels to try to find a cardio marker. He is well acquainted with the Guelph study, but I don't think he put the holter monitor on my dobes. ..(a 24 hour procedure I think). A vet student/tech told me they could, so you might want to ask Dr. Strickland about that before making the appointment. The vet school number is 225-578-9600. Ask for the appointment desk and tell them that you would like to talk to Dr. Strickland about the study. He will return your call...and I believe he schedules semi-annual and/or annual followups depending on the condition of your dog."
Hope s/he doesn't mind me reposting this but I think if you are in the state, that maybe participating is a good idea? I am planning on calling and getting in on the study. I don't know if they do a holter or not - if so, then I will have the info sent to Guelph for their study as well - if not then having whatever the Louisiana study offers done, and then six months later doing the holter for Guelph might help get some helpful information. If they don't do the holter, do you want to have me set up doing one for you? It would just be another excuse for me to come to Lousiana and eat seafood!!!! :) It is a 24 hour test so I would HAVE to stay overnight - maybe in Lake Charles at Harrahs or Coshata! :) I am soooo bad....
