As far as the money for care, look for free or discounted costs -- check your local health clinic and local hospitals, and ask the doc up front if they can give you a break since you cannot get insurance. Our local Catholic hopital has treated me and my husband for several years at no charge. We filled out a financial statement hoping for a discount and instead got everything free, including his monthly labs. All of the docs - anesthesia, radiology, surgery, etc. have given us deep discounts - some up to 50% off their regular price. But, you have to ask and be willing to provide tax returns, bank statements, etc.
