Since your husband is on PD, can you talk to his doctor about what help might be available for you. I live in Indiana and they have a state medicaid program if you're low income. I have a friend out in Kansas that is also on a similiar progrm. Also many doctors will take payments if you make arrangements up front.
This sounds like something you need to have checked out as soon as possible. Please don't put it off.
