I'm 41 and my kidneys have already failed from PKD and I had a successful transplant and now lead a perfectly normal life. I take my meds twice a day and have very little side effects. I think you should all think much more positively, we PKD patients have better odds and outcomes than many others. Even with the disease, proper care (especially blood pressure) can keep things going for a long time. Transplants are routine procedures and have very high success rates.
