It's unlikely that the recessive form of PKD wouldn't show up until your husband was an adult. That said, it could be that his sister had the dominant form of PKD and was misdiagnosed as recessive. Basically you're going to have to wait until after the ultrasound to know for sure.

PKD is a slow acting disease which you can slow down by keeping blood pressure at normal levels and treating any kidney infections quickly. There's also a new drug that's suppose to go into phase III clinical trials this summer so try not to let natural fears get to you. Still hoping your hubby turns out not to have it tho.
