All of my doctors have said that there have been no research studies DONE on the effects of caffeine on cysts in PKD patients, so when they recommend limited caffeine it is because they know it helps other kinds of kidney patients, so it would probably help us. I have heard some people say that caffeine (and stress) encourages the production of adrenaline, and ADRENALINE causes the cysts to grow at a faster rate. So stay calm, lower your heart rate, and lower your BP.
