>Sheryl Sheryl, I found out I had PKD when I was 17, been on blood pressure medicine since then, didn't have any trouble antil 1998 when I noticed cysts growing in my upper abdomen. Turned out I have polycystic organ disease, inherited from my father. I started having pain, fatigue, sluggishness in 2005, now in March of 2006 I am getting ready for surgery. The doctors at Mayo are removing 60 % of my liver and deroofng the remaining liver. During pre surgery tests they discovered a brain aneursym that they will take care of after liver surgery, they are hoping my kidneys will hold out 6 months to two years. My husband is my donor, a complete match! There are great doctors out there but you have to got to them! My regular doctor didn't want me to see a specialist, I did and am so glad. There's always hope, you just have to look for it. Good Luck
