Hi, I have a surprising story too. I met my dad when I was 11 in 1996 and right afterwards was stuck in the hospital for problems in my neck. As they were researching trying to find out what was wrong with my neck they found out I had polycystic Kidney Disease(at age 11) they were in shock to find it so early. It changed my life dramatically unlike others, I was unable to play any sports and had to see doctors all the time! I think finding out at an older age would be easier, but then a little bit riskier. I am 18 now and married, I am living a great life, but lost my father when he was 42(in 2002). He kept thinking this disease would disappear and always told me that, he never took his BP medicine or any others. In 2000, my father heart failed 3/4 of the way, he lived 2 years with only 1/4 of his heart. One year ago I found out I have high blood pressure from this disease, I now take medication to calm it down but it is stilll high sometimes. The other day it even got to 170/136 and it gets very scary. But the question I have for everyone is...Is is safe to have kids? Some have told me now and some say yes. Please Reply
