I've been experiencing the same problems but I've also had nausea, abdominal pain, and weight loss. My neph sent me to a GI specialist who ran a few tests to determine the cause. It seems that my kidneys and liver are so large due to innumerable cysts that my stomach can no longer distend normally. Because of the reduced kidney function, my stomach and intestines are no longer digesting food at the proper rate as well. This means the food stays in my stomach much longer than it should causing all of the above problems. The GI specialist prescribed "Reglan" to try to increase the rate of digestion. Unfortunately, I had some very severe side effects to the med. He now wants me to try E-mycin, which is supposed to have the same effect. If this doesn't work I'll just have to try to deal with this problem on a day to day basis.
Maybe you should discuss this with your neph to see what he/she has to say.
