All the toxins in your system can really bring down your enegry level and make you feel horrible. The great thing about dialysis is that you finally get back some of that energy that you lost. I watched my father go through it... he was very sick and got to where he didnt feel like doing anything anymore before he finally found out what was wrong.

It was over years -- he'd ended up losing his job and everything but after he started dialysis he actually went to college during that time and got his degree in electronics engineering and after his transplant was able to get a position as a professor. he always said that it really felt like the dialysis gave him his life back.. that he felt like he was drowning slowly untill he started it and then it was like his mind woke up again.

I'm starting to feel some of the effects myself now -- I have PKD. For years I felt the same way about the dialysis as you expressed... as time goes on it feels more and more like -- i hope when i get there it will take some of this 'heaviness' i feel off like it did for him.

I hope this helps :)
