Tim,
I think that it's critical that you get a referral to see a nephrologist as soon as possible. Having blood in your urine is a sign that your kidney function is declining. You must have your GP write you a referral to visit a nephrologist. Once you see a kidney doc they'll be able to help you out a lot with your situation. Don't be scared - when you see a kidney doc I think that you'll feel a lot more secure knowing that your in good hands.
