Yes, I have seen a trailer that was capable of carrying partially rigged sails (no booms). And there's no reason it couldn't have been modified to carry sails with the booms on. It just depends on how big a trailer you want.

The trailer I saw was built on a boat trailer. The sailor had built a box almost 8 foot wide, 16 feet long and about 18" high. Above that he had open racks to carry boards. He kept 3 or 4 sails in the box, downhauled on the masts but without booms. They laid in there much like they'd be laid out on the ground (curve up). I don't recall the biggest sail the box carried. If he had made the box 3 foot tall, I'm sure you could have nested several ready-to-go sails. The problem would have been that booms would have chafed the sails. Also, because the box was wood, more maintenance was required.

If you wanted to have a trailer like mine to carry sails fully rigged, it would have to be a big trailer... At least 16' long. And it would probably have to have 6.5 feet of inside head room. Then you'd still be limited to some sail size. Maybe a 6'5 sail would fit. Pulling something that large would require a vehicle like mine because of the windage.

And to best protect the sails from chafing, you'd probably want to hand them from the clew and mast head so that the boom head was just touching the trailer floor.

About the only people I see regularly carrying rigged sails are those folks driving large box trucks (like a U-Haul truck).

It can be done, but it's terribly expensive and probably doesn't save you enough time to justify the expense.
