Hi Doug,

Sorry for the delayed reply... We've been on the road.

>Hi Dog,

Thanks... I've certainly spent enough time on it.

Sounds like a good combo.

About 33" end to end.

Not much... I'd say 1/2 to 1 inch.

>3. What are the gross and tongue weights of your

Last couple of weights on big trips have had about 2900 lbs on the axle. With my smoker loaded in the front of the trailers, tongue weight is around 400-450 lbs.

>4. Does the stinger fit tight into the receiver?

Tight is kind of relative. Unloaded, you can move the end of the stinger maybe 1/2-3/4" side to side. If the stinger was any tighter in the box, getting it installed would be a bear.

>5. Do you use any type of "immobilizer" clamps

Nope... Though I'm thinking about adding some chains and turnbuckles from where the trailer chains connect to either end of the hitch. There aren't any holes at the ends of the hitch, so I'll have to figure something out.

My reasoning for this is as much to provide additional safety chains as it is to keep stinger motion minimized.

>6. Do you experience any horizontal "wagging" of the
>stinger?

Not that I've seen or felt.

>Would really appreciate any info and/or advice that

Can't really think of anything else. I've seen some really big trailers on Titan stingers. I think if I had anything bigger, I'd probably use load equalizing bars. If your trailer has electric brakes, I think it helps take the load off of the stinger. If you're towing flat, you don't have a lot of tongue weight to worry about, but you might consider getting one of those special RV brake set ups for your jeep.

But really, as long as you don't do hard braking while turning, I really don't think there's excessive (or even significant) stress on the stinger.

>In southern California, like in your area, people that

I hear that. After 8 days of traveling, I can count the number of truck campers I saw on 2 hands.

Good luck.

Laterrrrr....
Dog
