When I took my camper in for work, they had zero problem with me offloading it into the parking lot near the back dock. I got to keep the truck for use, and they had everything they needed for troubleshooting...

And the problem with your generator may be so simple that they don't have to take it out to fix it.

I'd do it that way instead of taking the generator out. I'm sure removal isn't difficult, but it isn't trivial either. And are you 100% sure that the problem isn't in the gas line going to the generator?
